Dr. Miodrag Zec is an economist and professor at the University of Belgrade. He finished his bachelor studies at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade in 1975, and immediately after he enrolled in a PhD course “Economic development – politics of economic development” where he also defended his PhD dissertation. Throughout his career he has worked as a professor and held courses for bachelor and master’s programs in Serbia and the region. Aside from his academic career at the University, he worked at the Institute of economic sciences in Belgrade as a researcher and research director. Since 1991. he has worked as a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. His main areas of interest are privatization and tranzition. It is exactly from these topics that the connection with circular economy arises – grounded in social ideas and potential they offer for the future.
