The backbone of the Mikser Festival Art zone is the platform Black Box initiated in 2015 in a cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade to support young authors to experiment with the multidisciplinary approach. Strengthened by the partnership with the curatorial platform and gallery “Monolog” from Berlin, the Art Zone of the Mikser festival will present the newest generation of artists from all over the world. Six editions of the Black Box exhibition have so far presented more than 500 young authors from diverse creative fields and facilitated their dialogue with prominent regional art figures through series of art talks, workshops and Q&A’s.

This year’s Black Box competition, with its slogan “No Middle Ground”, invites young artists who are ready to use their power, disrupt the status quo and oppose injustice and conflict, push the boundaries and remove the barriers that divide us, break stereotypes and prejudices, unwaveringly express their attitude towards the present and uncompromisingly create their vision of the future.

Black Box encourages young authors to try their hand at an experimental and multidisciplinary approach to art, and to contribute their visions to the debate on social change.

A selection of Black Box works will be shown in the form of a multimedia exhibition, within the installation space at the Mikser festival in Belgrade.
