The Mikser organization continues its successful long-term cooperation with the Austrian Cultural Forum on the realization of the Mixer Festival program. This year, three Austrian authors are participating in the largest regional festival of creativity, under the slogan “Hug”, depicting the diversity of AKF activities in Serbia: from science to art.
Architect and founder of the Vertical Farm Institute, Daniel Podmirseg will share his knowledge in the field of nature-inspired urban solutions at the panel “Happier Cities – When Nature and Citizens Unite” within the conference program of the Mixer Festival. The aim of the discussion of the gathered experts and representatives of relevant local institutions is to include these perspectives in the public dialogue on planning more sustainable, healthier and happier cities and to open space for improving the planning process in our urban practice.
As an extension of the project “At Second Glance” of the Austrian Cultural Forum, artists Pira Tin and Tijana Petrovic will hold a workshop within the art platform of the Mixer Festival “Black Box” during which they will present their work and exchange experiences with young authors from the region. The online platform “At Second Glance” was created in the year when it marks the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Austrian Cultural Forum Belgrade, as well as the 185th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Austria and Serbia. It is conceived as an exhibition space for thematic and curated art content, which in the initial phase consists of works by 10 visual artists from Serbia and 10 from Austria who arrived for the competition that is being announced for this occasion.
As part of the panel discussion “The Future of Art”, Austrian artist Sangam Sharma, also a participant in the project “At a Glance”, will talk with colleagues from the region about the challenges posed by the global pandemic, as well as new forms and experiences of artistic activity in future.
