Nature in focus

For several years, the Mikser organization has been cooperating with the European delegation in Serbia on projects to raise awareness about environmental protection and gender equality and to improve the quality of life of vulnerable social groups.

The programs of the Mikser Festival realized in cooperation with the European Delegation in Serbia include two-panel discussions and one exhibition that promote and bring closer the values of the EU in Serbia.

“Green Agenda for the Balkans” is a panel examining the capacities of the Serbian and regional economy in the implementation of the European Green Deal and the benefits for the development of the private and public sectors.

The Green Recovery Study addresses the EU’s 2030 climate targets and the implementation of the European Green Deal standards as key guidelines for directing investment towards sustainable projects and activities to make our economy and society, especially the health system, more resilient to climate change and other challenges.

The exhibition “Natura 2000” at the Mikser Festival is the result of the photo competition “Natura 2000 in the frame” which was jointly organized by the project “EU for Natura 2000 in Serbia” and the “Energetski portal”. The main goal of the competition is to connect the importance of biodiversity conservation with the diversity of natural landscapes in Serbia and to emphasize the species that will be part of the future Natura 2000 network in Serbia. Also, to show the general public the natural beauties of Serbia, and to motivate and remind the citizens of the importance of preserving the environment and the survival of various flora and fauna.

The Natura 2000 network is an international ecological network of protected areas that are classified into two categories according to the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive. The project supports the Ministry of Environmental Protection to establish the first list of potential sites in Serbia that will be part of the European Natura 2000 network.
