euPOLIS at the EU Green Week

The euPOLIS project in which the Mikser is the leading communication partner, was presented under the umbrella of EU Green Week events, by hosting the “Blue Green Healthy Cities for Happy People: The euPOLIS approach in modeling Nature-based Solutions impacts in integrated urban planning & design” webinar.

After the introductory speech on Opportunities for global upscaling of innovations in the planning of the future healthy cities for happy people, euPOLIS experts, Stanislava Bošković and Čedo Maksimović (Imperial College London) presented the beyond the state-of-the-art euPOLIS approach in urban planning and design.

Sandra Baki and Yannis Kavouras of the National Technical University of Athens discussed the visualization of the euPOLIS systems showcasing the 3D presentation of demo areas, monitoring, modeling, and NBS pre-planing impact assessment.

A glimpse into how the Blue-Green solutions work in reality was provided by experts from the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Belgrade, Anja Ranđelović and Filip Stanić. They presented the impact of rain gardens, multifunctional roof gardens, and vertical green wall panels in managing energy, surface water balance, and pollution reduction.

After the official presentations, there was a Q&A session moderated by Afroditi Mathioudaki, followed by the concluding remarks by prof. Maksimović.
