Inquiry Commission Final Report

Seven months after the tragic incident that shook the public—the collapse of a canopy that claimed lives and symbolically exposed the structural and systemic weaknesses of our society—the final report of the Inquiry Commission will be presented to the public for the first time. What exactly went wrong? Who bears responsibility? Was it a failure of individuals, or does it point to serious shortcomings within institutions, the legal framework, and professional ethics?

In a panel discussion moderated by Milan Ćulibrk, editor-in-chief of the Radar portal, we will examine the findings and recommendations of the Inquiry Commission from multiple perspectives—legal, engineering, institutional, and societal. Both panelists and the audience will be invited to reflect on what accountability means in a contemporary society—and how we can make it possible again.

The Inquiry Commission on the Canopy Collapse was established as an independent, ad hoc body tasked with thoroughly investigating all circumstances leading up to the incident—from planning and construction, to institutional oversight and the response of relevant authorities. Its members include experts in law, engineering, economics, and public administration. The Commission’s aim was to provide, through months of dedicated work, an impartial and comprehensive analysis of responsibility, both individual and systemic.
