Playwright, theatre director, activist and culture worker, co-founder and director in the socially engaged theater company Reflektor Teatar, and creative director of civil society organization Center E8.
Her plays are challenging the way we perceive theater by applying participatory co-creative process and are also adding a gender perspective. Minja has made significant contributions to society and culture by bringing diverse perspectives to the forefront. Minja’s work emphasizes the importance of culture in awakening societal consciousness, advocating for a more inclusive and diverse representation in the arts. Collaborating with artists from different backgrounds, such as Jeton Neziraj from Kosovo, she has explored transcultural hybridity in post-Yugoslav theater, showcasing the richness of diverse narratives and experiences.
For over fifteen years, she have been working with youth and for youth, both on artistic projects and in the field of human rights education, with a special focus on feminist activism, gender equality, violence prevention, and the promotion of political participation.
Through her artistic endeavors and advocacy efforts, Milena Minja Bogavac continues to play a vital role in shaping a more inclusive and culturally rich society.
