Next Gen Design is a project of five leading European design festivals – Mikser Festival, Barcelona Design Week, What Design Can Do from Amsterdam, Skopje Design Week, and designaustria within Vienna Design Week – dedicated to the development of young creatives and the promotion of sustainable practices in design.

Through exhibitions, residencies, and educational formats, the project brings together a new generation of designers who actively reflect on a more sustainable, inclusive, and just future through their work.

The central part of this year’s program is the exhibition “Redesign Tomorrow, Today,” featuring 52 award-winning works by young authors from 20 European countries. Their works explore key social challenges through themes such as inclusion, circular economy, sustainable technology, and redesigning everyday life, inviting the audience to think differently about the world around them.

The exhibition will premiere in Belgrade as part of the Mikser Festival and then travel to Amsterdam, Vienna, Barcelona, and Skopje.

Alongside the exhibition, the residency program gathers ten selected designers who develop new approaches to local and global challenges through teamwork, workshops, and lectures.

The educational segment, Next Gen Design Talks, further empowers young authors to think beyond existing frameworks.
